Are you interested in lending a hand to help with the arts? Volunteers help ensure our audience has a smooth, welcoming, and fun experience—we couldn’t do this without you! We lovingly refer to this group of volunteers as our "fambo"! Whether you're helping out as an usher in the theatre, or spreading the word of Ambo at an outreach event, all positions are valuable to the organization. Volunteering with Ambo Dance Theatre​

Volunteers are an essential part of Ambo Dance Theatre. Whether you’re interested in helping at performances, supporting outreach events, or lending your skills behind the scenes, there are many ways to get involved. Volunteering with Ambo is flexible, community-driven, and centered around making dance accessible to everyone.
Below are some of the ways volunteers commonly support our work:

Front of House & Event Support
Help create a welcoming and smooth experience for audiences at performances and events.

Ushering: Greet guests, assist with seating, and help audiences navigate the space.

Merch Table Assistance: Help sell merchandise, distribute programs, and answer basic questions about Ambo.

Silent Auction Support: Assist with setup, monitoring bid sheets, answering questions, and breakdown during fundraising events.

Outreach & Community Engagement
Support Ambo’s presence at community events and festivals.

Event Outreach: Table with us at community events, help hand out materials, talk with attendees, and represent Ambo in public-facing spaces.

Flyer & Promotion Support: Assist with distributing promotional materials around the city or at partner locations.

Administrative & Behind-the-Scenes Help
Great for volunteers who prefer quieter or skill-based roles.

Data Entry & Organization: Help with organizing contact lists, event materials, or archives.

Office & Studio Support: Assist with light setup, cleanup, or preparation for classes, rehearsals, or events.

Special Skills Support: Volunteers with skills in photography, videography, graphic design, writing, or social media may have opportunities to assist on specific projects.​

What to Expect

Volunteer opportunities are flexible and scheduled based on upcoming events.

No dance experience is required.

Training or guidance is provided for all roles.
