Social Media Manager​​
Ambo Dance Theatre is seeking a part-time Social Media Manager to support the execution of marketing efforts across social media, short-form video, email campaigns, and website content. This is a paid contractor position ideal for a detail-oriented, early-career marketer who combines creative sensibility with strong execution skills and a passion for arts-based storytelling who is excited to work with a values-driven contemporary dance organization. This position offers 20-25 hours a week.
The Social Media Manager plays a key role in shaping Ambo’s public voice, increasing visibility, and supporting engagement for performances, classes, and community programming. This position will collaborate with the administrative team and artistic director to ensure all digital content is visually refined, accurate, and aligned with both Ambo Dance Theatre’s brand standards. This position is primarily in-person, with some flexibility of hybrid scheduling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

2+ years of relevant experience

Short-form video editing experience

Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

Experience with email platforms such as Mailchimp
-
Strong organizational skills

Self-motivated, and able to work independently

Comfortable working in a collaborative, community-oriented environment

Portfolio required of previous graphics/campaigns

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

This role may require standing, walking, stair use, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
-
Create, write, and schedule engaging social media content across platforms (primarily Instagram, Facebook, and others as needed)

Develop content that aligns with Ambo’s mission, values, and brand voice

Collaborate with Artistic and Administrative staff to plan content
-
Maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms
-
Work with photos, videos, and graphics to ensure content reflects Ambo’s aesthetic
Social Media Management

Manage day-to-day activity on Ambo’s social media accounts
-
Respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional, and welcoming manner

Stay up-to-date on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices
Campaign & Event Promotion
-
Promote performances, events, workshops, and fundraising efforts

Support marketing campaigns leading up to shows and major initiatives
-
Coordinate content timelines around ticket launches, announcements, and deadlines
-
Attend performances/events as needed to record content
Analytics & Reporting
-
Track engagement, reach, and growth across platforms
-
Analyze performance metrics and adjust strategy accordingly
-
Share insights and reports with the team to inform future campaigns
