What Is Partnering & Improvisation?
This class combines two complementary movement practices: dance improvisation and partnering.

Dance improvisation is the practice of creating movement in real time—responding to your body, the space, and the people around you. Partnering expands this work by introducing shared movement, including weight-sharing, lifts, and physical communication.

In our dance partnering and improvisation classes in Louisville, you’ll explore:
-
Creating movement spontaneously
- Responding to other dancers in real time
- Weight-sharing and counterbalance
- Lifts and supported movement
- Collaborative movement creation

Together, these practices build both individual creativity and group connection.
