Ambo Dance Theatre is kicking off their 2026-2027 season year with The Solo/Duo Festival! These intimate and visceral in-house performances feature a curated selection of professional choreographic works in diverse contemporary dance forms. Performances will be held August 28-29, 2026, at Ambo Dance Theatre.

Our winter production brings you a joyful and fantastical parody of the holiday classic with a modern dance spin. Performances will be held December 11-13, 2026, at the University of Louisville Thrust Theatre.

A celebration of creative risk taking, radical experimentation, low pressure creation, connecting with our community through collaborative process, and Serious Fun! This is a works in progress show that will give the choreographers a chance to get some feedback on their pieces. It puts choreography together in conversation with other types of art to broaden audiences from various mediums. All ages friendly! Performance will be held January 30, 2027 at The Woodbine Chamber.

A more formal, curated professional performance platform, featuring: 

• Ambo choreography proposals

• Submissions from outside artist and organizations (multi-regional)

• Performances will be March 5-7, 2027 at Actors Theatre

This show is a series of dance works created and presented by Ambo Dance Theatre's professional company, community ensemble, youth companies, and School dancers. These original dance works will focus on the following central question: In a world divided by politics, misinformation, status, and identity, what is the path forward toward a more equitable and unified future?. The performances will be June 4-6, 2027 at the University of Louisville Thrust Theatre.
