Our winter production brings you a joyful and fantastical parody of the holiday classic with a modern dance spin. Performances will be held December 12-14, 2025, at the University of Louisville Thrust Theatre.

A celebration of creative risk taking, radical experimentation, low pressure creation, connecting with our community through collaborative process, and Serious Fun! This is intentionally a quick turnaround, low pressure choreographic event. It puts choreography together in conversation with other types of art to broaden audiences from various mediums. All ages friendly!

A more formal, curated professional performance platform, featuring: 

• Ambo choreography proposals

• Submissions from outside artist and organizations (multi-regional)

This show is a series of dance works created and presented by Ambo Dance Theatre's professional company, community ensemble, youth companies, and School dancers. These original dance works will reclaim and amplify feminist narratives through dance, historical and literary analysis, and community engagement in order to challenge perceptions of femininity, power, and autonomy. 

​The title of this artistic initiative is directly sourced from the popular quote "Well Behaved Women seldom make history" coined by historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, setting the theme for the work we are setting out to create.
